Behind The Lens
Born on the beautiful California Central Coast and continuing my adventure here to this day, photography entered my life at a young age. My grandpa, a religious fisherman and globetrotter, enjoyed capturing the wildlife and landscapes he encountered during his journeys. Looking through these photos with him left me enthralled, and I remember even having a small point-and-shoot I would take to the Santa Barbara Zoo to capture the easy stuff like the plants and rocks, in hopes that one day I could be like my grandpa. In junior high I re-discovered my interest in the art, and it was early in my third year of high school that I finally had my first “big boy” camera, a Sony a6000, and captured my first of many portraits in, of course, our dog Buster. However, I treated photography much like my time with tennis; you can’t hit a ball until you know how to swing. So I spent the years leading up to that a6000 dedicating thousands of hours to studying photography both in my own time and later in classes at both Ernest Righetti High School and Allan Hancock College. I began taking on professional shoots as early as 16 and have only grown my portfolio, ranging anywhere from simple modeled portraits to weddings and concerts. I continue to shoot across California and beyond, and I sincerely hope you find joy in what I’ve captured along the way.
Keep Smiling ;)
